About Centra Alliance
Central Virginia Accountable Care Collaborative (CVACC), or Centra Alliance, was formed to collectively create processes and clinical initiatives that are designed to control costs, improve quality of care of the community and improve the patient experience for Medicare patients. It is envisioned and encouraged that physicians and physician practice groups and other health systems will join the CVACC in this innovative initiative in order to provider better care for Medicare patients.
Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) are a model of care that bring system-employed physicians, independent physicians, and Centra’s resources into a clinically and financially aligned partnership . The flexibility of an ACO enables the system to innovate and engage in clinical transformation and better prepares its partners for any changes to the nation’s health care system reform.
